The Eight Brocades
Shaolin Ba Duan Jin is a health exercise that has been practiced for hundreds of years by the monks of the Shaolin Temple as part of their daily training. It consists of eight selected movements derived from Shaolin Qigong – Yi Jin Jing. These exercises are graceful, flowing, and easy to learn and practice. By combining movement, breathing, and mental focus, Shaolin Ba Duan Jin enables a holistic harmonization of body and mind. With regular practice, it strengthens one’s essence, Qi, and mind, promotes the smooth circulation of blood and energy, and supports a long and healthy life.

Standing Meditation
Standing Meditation is a fundamental method in Shaolin Qigong and a unique form of static meditation. By maintaining specific postures while standing still for a long period of time, combined with focused intention, regulated breathing, and a relaxed yet stable body, it strengthens the body, enhances internal energy, and harmonizes both body and mind. Standing meditation is known for cultivating inner energy and improving health in a profound manner.

通则不痛,痛则不通
Tong Ze Bu Tong , Tong Ze Bu Tong
When there is free flow, there is no pain; when there is pain, there is no free flow
Traditional Chinese Medicine says: “When there is free flow, there is no pain; when there is pain, there is no free flow.” This means when Qi and blood move freely through the body’s meridians, there is no pain. If a certain area feels painful, it indicates that the flow of Qi and blood is obstructed and the meridians are blocked. One of the core functions of Shaolin Qigong is to open the meridians throughout the whole body, harmonize Qi and blood, and remove stagnation and, thus, achieving the state of “When there is free flow, there is no pain.”

Strengthening upright energy and eliminating disease-causing influences to support health maintenance and the treatment of illness.
Whether it is a cold, fatigue, chronic illness, or emotional imbalance, the root cause is often related to a deficiency of zheng qi (upright energy). Shaolin Qigong works by regulating the breath (Qi), the body (movement), and the mind (intent) to restore the balance of Yin and Yang, harmonize Qi and blood, cultivate internal energy, and strengthen the muscles and tendons. This enhances the body’s natural self-healing ability, improves zheng qi (upright energy) and prevents illnesses before they can arise.
